Fruits Basket Premiere Event Announced

The Fruits Basket reboot is debuting in April 2019. Based a 1990's manga about a young girl named Tohru who finds herself embroiled in the lives of the mysterious and cursed family, this brand new anime will cover the whole series, something that the 2001 anime failed to do. With its slick animation and powerhouse voice acting team, it looks poised to be one of the best anime of the Spring 2019 season.

But if you're a diehard fan, April might seem like far too long to wait. Thankfully, you may not have to. On March 26th and March 27th, a premiere event is going to be hitting select theaters in the USA. The premiere will include two episodes of the new show, plus commentary from both the Japanese and English voice acting casts. If you prefer to see the dubbed version - which features a revival of the 2001 cast - you should grab tickets for the Tuesday showing. If you'd rather see the subbed version - which features an all new cast - you should head to you local theater on Wednesday.

As if it weren't already awesome enough to get the chance to experience the 2019 Fruits Basket with fellow fans, those who attend the event will walk away with some adorable swag. This includes three pins, a plastic cup, and a lanyard.

If you're a New Yorker, Village East Cinema and East 86th St. Cinema will both be screening the event. Boston fans can check out Landmark's Kendall Square Cinema. If you live in or near a major city, chances are there's an event near you. Get your tickets quickly - this event is likely to sell out fast.
