ROMANCE DAWN Is Getting An Anime Adaptation

via: raftel.net

For any and all One Piece fans, the time has finally come! While most of us have been enjoying our 800+ episodes of incredible storytelling from Eiichiro Oda, there used to be a past that we've all sort of shoved into the back of our head. Before One Piece was ROMANCE DAWN, a prototype anime that basically tested the waters for its later story. The one-shot featured Monkey D. Luffy in a plot and world very similar to it's later version with a very different story.

Originally started by Oda during his first year in junior high as a series of sketches, ROMANCE DAWN would officially be published in the iconic Weekly Shonen Jump magazine years later after several refinements. The short adaptation had three installments, all of which would later be scrapped to recreate One Piece; a story which kept the main character and changed several other elements to create what it is today.

If you're a fan of One Piece, you should probably be screaming right about now. The release date is set for October 20, 2019, as a part of One Piece's 20th anniversary. And before you ask, no this isn't like the One Piece Romance Dawn Story that was released back in 2008. Whereas that adaptation was set in the One Piece world with an altered story line, this new adaptation is said to be more faithful to the original manga. Certainly, this will be an exciting tribute to Oda and all of his success since the release of the original story.

Let us know how you'll be celebrating the 20th anniversary of One Piece in the comment section!
