Nintendo President, Reggie Fils-Aime, Announces Retirement and Replacement.
Longtime Nintendo of America President, Reggie Fils-Aime is retiring. After leading the American branch of Nintendo for 15 years, Reggie will be passing the “controller” to Doug Bowser. Yeah, I can’t believe that is his real name either.

For many American Nintendo fans, Reggie has been an Iconic face of the company. He has even spawned one of the internet’s most beloved memes. “My body is ready,” was stated on stage at E3 2007 and Reggie himself said the joke in his retirement announcement. The announcement came in two forms. Nintendo themselves gave a press release statement, and Reggie sent out a video on social media to speak directly to fans.
It is always nice to see executives speak directly to the people.
The future President of Nintendo of America is Doug Bowser, the previous Vice President of Sales for Nintendo of America. Before Nintendo, Doug was the VP of Demand over at EA. It would seem that this guy has been working in the game industry since 2007.
It is always sad to see a familiar friend go, but we have been gifted a new face for Nintendo of America, and his name is Bowser. Let’s hope that he doesn’t do anything rash like kidnap a princess.
We here at Senpai Project wish you the best in your retirement, Reggie. Thank you for your work.
