The protagonist of the tale, Yichi Katagiri, a young guy with a flawless school life who has four companions with challenging situations, is based on Mikoto Yamaguchi's original concept. The disappearance of 2 million yen (about $20,000) in school trip expenses puts a stop to his quiet everyday existence. As Yichi becomes involved in a mystery game for money and is forced to choose between friendship and money, mysteries start to emerge.
In December 2013, Sato (Sherlock Bones, Yokai Doctor) debuted the manga in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shnen Magazine. The manga took a break in December 2019, made a brief appearance for one chapter in February 2020, and then took another break. In August 2020, the manga's last arc began.
