More Persona 5 coming to PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch

Joker is running wild! Almost immediately after Persona 5’s Joker was added in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the team over at Atlus had to give us more. Two games have been announced for The Phantom Thieves, and one is not something we expected for the Persona franchise.
Atlus has published trailers for two games. The first game is an enhanced version of the original Persona 5. Entitled Persona 5: Royal, it features an extended story with more time to hang out with your best friends from the academy. The Japanese trailer also gives us some visual clues as to what some of those extra scenes might be such as more time in the game’s dungeons and new characters to interact with. Persona 5: Royal launches on PlayStation 4 in Japan on October 10th, 2019, but unfortunately the rest of the world will have to wait until 2020.
For their second announcement, Atlus teamed up with Koei Tecmo, the developers of the Dynasty Warriors series, for Persona 5 Scramble The Phantom Strikers. The game is visually similar to the primary Persona 5 game, but the gameplay is more in line with Dynasty Warriors series. The trailer shown below shows mobs of evil shadows running rampant in Tokyo’s Shinjuku area with Joker slashing his way through the crowd. While Atlus only gave us a glimpse of Persona 5’s protagonist Joker, veterans of the Dynasty games know that there are usually multiple playable characters. No release date has been given for Persona 5 Scramble The Phantom Strikers yet, but we can expect the game to launch on both the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
The Persona series has always given us hours of fantastic storytelling and entertaining gameplay. I can only hope that Atlus continues that same quality in both of these new titles. What do you think about Persona 5: Royal and Persona 5 Scramble The Phantom Strikers? Let us know in the comments.
