7 Big Games at Sony's E3 PlayStation Showcase.
Updated: Jun 15, 2018
While they did not show the same amount of games as Microsoft's Xbox Conference, Sony's PlayStation Showcase went for quality over quantity. Sony's PlayStation 4 is this console generation's leader with more than 70 million units sold as of December 2017, and their Showcase reminds us why. While not all games were given a release date, just about every game had some gameplay in their trailers. Here are the games you are going to want to follow.

1. The Last of Us Part II
The juggernaut game studio that is Naughty Dog had the first time slot in Sony's Showcase, and they delivered the goods. The Last of Us Part II takes place years after the first game to show an older Ellie still living in Jackson, Wyoming. While Joel was mentioned in the trailer as Ellie's "father," he is not seen. Neil Druckmann, one of the game's directors, has confirmed he is still alive. Also confirmed to return, are the Infected. While exact details are not given at this time, Neil Druckmann stated that we would see more Infected classes in the Last of Us Part II.
Ellie will be the character that you embark on the journey that is the Last of Us Part II. She looks older and more combat capable. In the trailer, we see Ellie spy on members of the religious group. She becomes compromised while sneaking around their camp and we watch the battle unfold. Ellie fights in a true gruesome fashion. There is no doubt that she has learned a lot since the first game.
Naughty Dog has not given any information about a release date for The Last of Us Part II at this time.

2. Destiny 2: Forsaken
Bungie's Destiny 2 has been in a weird place with their fanbase. Many members of the Destiny community have claimed that the game has been lackluster when it comes to story. Well, Bungie has heard their call and decided to give us a taste of the Forsaken story at the PlayStation Showcase.
The trailer opens up with a close up look at a severely beaten Cayde-6. The camera turns to show us his surroundings. Cayde's ghost is destroyed off camera, and we see at who is behind this. Prince Uldren Sov of the Reef is holding Cayde's hand cannon, the Ace of Spades. Behind Uldren is a multitude of Fallen Barons with whom he has allied. A gunshot goes off. Forsaken Project Lead, Scott Taylor, later confirmed the death of Cayde-6. The DLC also features a new PvEvP game mode called Gambit, new weapons and weapon types, nine new super moves, a new explorable zone called the Dreaming City, and a brand new raid.
