5 Games to play with your Valentine in 2020

Here at Senpai Project, we love games, but we also love playing games with the people we love. Today, we are going to talk about some of the top games you can play with that special someone on Valentine's Day.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order

Last year a little game came out on the Nintendo Switch that included just about everyone in the Marvel Universe! Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order features Captain America, Spider-Man, Iron Man, Rocket Racoon, and just about everyone's favorite Marvel hero.

This story-based, cooperative, beat-em-up will have you and your friends travel through the land, sea, and even outer space to put an end to Thanos and his Black Order.

Nintendo helped publish Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 since the original games were cult classics, but you don't need to play the others to understand what is going on. If you have seen a Marvel movie in recent times, you will have all the knowledge you need to start battling villains.

With Ultimate Alliance teams allowing up to four-players, you can have just about anyone join in on the fun.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is only available on Nintendo Switch.

Gang Beasts

Imagine you are a drunk wrestler made of jelly. That is what a fighting match in Gang Beasts is all about.

Take on your close ones in ridiculous arenas featuring industrial warehouses and moving vehicles.

This is not the most competitive fighter since characters have little control over their movements, but the lack of control leads to some hilarious situations. You'll fall down cliffs and miss attacks, causing yourself harm in this ridiculous battling game.

Gang Beasts is also a 4-player co-op title with the ability to team up against the CPU.

Battle in Gang Beasts on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC/Mac via Steam, Humble, and Oculus. A Nintendo Switch Release is planned, but no date on that just yet.

Destiny 2

I'm sure you have heard about Destiny 2 at this point, but the gigantic MMORPG style FPS game has never been more accessible to new players. Launching back in 2017, the first year of Destiny 2's content has entered the Free-to-Play model. That gives you loads of Campaign story to play through and plenty of team strike missions, which are basically teamed up story missions.

Form a fireteam of up 3 players and take on Destiny 2's campaign. If you and that special someone likes what you have played, then you can hop into the newest DLC, Shadowkeep.

With Destiny 2: Shadowkeep and a seasonal pass, you have now planned out months of date night activities.

Goodbye Netflix and Chill, and hello to Destiny 2 and Grind.

As a matter of fact, Destiny 2 will be hosting a doubles game mode called Crimson Days. Players will compete against each other on teams of two. When one player goes down, the teammate that is still alive will gain the "Broken Heart" buff that will increase their reload and handling on their weapons.

Destiny 2 is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Jackbox Party Packs

Literally, a box full of mini-games. Well, there are several boxes, six of them to be exact, and the mini-games are for 2-10 players. Trivia games, drawing games, interactive memory games are all here and can be played with that particular person or a group.

My favorite games from the Jackbox series include Trivia Murder Party 2, which is a general trivia game that will have you and your close ones avoiding a killer by answering questions.

Drawful is a Pictionary style game that has multiple players drawing and then guessing what the other players have drawn. With silly options like "milk pool," you can get a feel for the drawings you will see.

With so many different games in the Party Pack it's hard to buy just one pack. Do yourself the favor and get them all.

Jackbox Party Pack 1-6 and are available on just about every gaming device.

Super Mario Party

Grab a bottle of wine and grab a cheese spread because it's date night with Mario and friends.

What better way to spend Valentine's Day than to play the all-new Super Mario Party on Switch?

Super Mario Party is full of Mini-games with all sorts of challenges, and getting coins and stars for a job well done is truly rewarding. Have fun running around five game boards with different travel mechanics and rules.

They have also introduced a new 2-player team co-op version of Mario Party that will have you another player vs. another team of two. The game is called the Partner party and has the same game boards changed up just a little to allow for free movement and shared dice rolls.

Of course, the real showcase of Super Mario Party is the mini-games. There are 80 Mini-games in Super Mario Party that span 1 vs. 3, 2 vs. 2, and free-for-all game types.

With the famous ingenuity of Nintendo's game developers, you already know how much fun you can have playing Super Mario Party with that special someone.

Super Mario Party is only available on Nintendo Switch.

So there you have it, these five games are sure to brighten up any Valentine's day dinner reservations that fell through. I hope you all give some of our options a chance, and if you have any of your own choices, let us know in the comments section.
