1. Yuri on Ice

Given that it's an anime about figure skating, one would expect Yuri on Ice to take place in the winter. Every other scene takes place on a skating rink, while the off-rink scenes often include snow, fog, and other cooler weather conditions. The only thing that might have you overheating is the site of Victor's butt, but that kind of heat is a lot more fun than dying next to a busted air conditioner.

2. ERASED

There's no plot related reason for the snowy atmosphere of ERASED, but it adds to the bleak and beautiful ambiance of the story. This anime focuses on Satoru Fujinuma as he travels back in time to try to prevent his childhood friend Kayo from being murdered. That's a heavy plot, but if you're looking for some darkness to go along with your snow, ERASED might be right up your alley.

3. The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya

While the actual anime series takes place in an ambiguously springlike season, the spin-off movie The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya takes place in the dead of winter, forcing its characters into a heavy coats. Not only will this anime put you in a cooler state of mind, it'll also remind you of the less delightful aspects of winter time - quite a few characters end up sick with horrible colds. Unless you're nursing your own summer illness, this movie make you feel grateful for the unreasonably hot season.

4. 5 Centimeters Per Second

This romance anime is about the heartbreakingly fleeting nature of love. Winter serves as a bit of an antagonist, as it's a storm that stops the two main characters from meeting up as planned, but the gorgeous wintery scenery more than makes up for it. Stare longingly at the snow and feel yourself transported somewhere far away - somewhere where your armpits haven't transformed into actual, honest-to-god swamps.
