1st Berserk Manga Volume Since Kentarou Miura's Passing in November

Berserk was published for the first time in 1989. The brutal dark-fantasy story follows Guts, an intimidating mercenary known for his massive sword and the strength and skill with which he wields it, as he embarks on a long quest for revenge against Griffith, a charismatic and idealistic military leader, as he embarks on a long quest for revenge against his former friend and leader.

The series has received widespread critical acclaim and is now widely regarded as one of the most influential manga series of all time, with numerous other popular manga series, including Hajime Isayama's Attack on Titan, and countless video games, including Final Fantasy and Dark Souls, citing it as a direct inspiration.

On Monday, Dark Horse Comics confirmed with Crunchyroll that the 41st collected book volume of Kentarou Miura's Berserk manga, which features Miura's last chapters for the series, will be released in November. The volume (seen above with the English cover) will be available at comic shops on November 9 and in bookstores on November 22. A two-sided color poster insert will be included in the trade paperback edition.

Dark Horse also mentions that specifics about a possible Deluxe Edition for the last volume are unavailable, but will be published as soon as possible. They characterize Berserk's last volume as follows: "Despite being free of her mental prison, Casca remains haunted by memories of the horrors she has endured. Guts the Black Swordsman, who experienced similar horrors in his never-ending mission to see Casca cured, evokes these horrible recollections the most. Could the apparition of a strange, silent youngster, on the other hand, be the key to bringing Casca's tortured spirit to rest?"
